Media Release - Marine Spatial Plan to be delivered in 2016

Today saw confirmation of a refreshed process for Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari, the project to produce a Marine Spatial Plan for the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana. The Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari Stakeholder Working Group will reconvene next month, with the final plan to be delivered in 2016.

On 22 June 2015, Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari – the ground-breaking project to create a Marine Spatial Plan for the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana – announced an extension to the timeframe for producing the final plan.

What is the most important issue facing the Hauraki Gulf?
This was the question posed at the New Zealand Association for Environment Education’s (NZAEE) Seaweek celebrity panel, hosted by Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari. For some it was education, for others, a lack of understanding of the relationship between land and sea. But most of all it was lively and engaging, exploring our connection with, and dependence on, the sea.
Roundtable handover to SWG

Media Release - New Zealand Herald series

From 15-19 December, the New Zealand Herald ran a detailed five-day series on Sea Change – Tai Timu Pari.
The series was very well received and we were delighted to see the issues facing the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana getting such comprehensive coverage.
