Media Release - Farewell to Nick Main

4 August 2015, 09:58 AM

From Penny Webster and Paul Majurey, co-chairs of the Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari Project Steering Group (PSG).

On 3 August, on behalf of the Sea Change – Tai Timu Tai Pari project, we reluctantly accepted that Nick Main is not renewing his contract for continuing as Independent Chair of the Stakeholder Working Group (SWG), due to the fact that he has long term commitments when he returns from overseas.

Nick and the SWG have done a massive amount of work in the last two years with many stakeholder groups and the Roundtables. The project has made great progress and it is important that the excellent work of the SWG to date is not lost. The SWG has made some suggestions regarding the way forward to complete of the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana Marine Spatial Plan; the Project Steering Group will discuss these suggestions at its meeting next Tuesday 11 August, as we work together to continue and finish this very important project to secure a healthy, productive and sustainable future for the Hauraki Gulf/Tikapa Moana.
